Device compatibility
Separate verified package requirements from device-dependent capabilities.

Verified package requirements
The following values were read from the actual downloadable APKs, rather than copied from older website text.
| Item | Verified value |
|---|---|
| Installer | 1.0, package com.nethunter.kalidroid |
| Application | 1.3.33-debug, package com.excp.kalidroid.debug |
| Minimum Android declared by both APKs | Android 8.0 / API 26 |
| Native app architecture | ARM64 (arm64-v8a) |
| Current application channel | Debug |
The minimum SDK tells Android whether the package may be installed. It does not establish that every feature works on every device running that Android version.
Check your device
Find your Android version in the device’s About phone settings. Confirm ARM64 support using your device specifications or a trusted system-information tool. Some devices have a 64-bit processor but a 32-bit Android userspace.
There is currently no verified device-by-device support matrix. Avoid assuming that a specific phone model or manufacturer guarantees a working virtualization backend.
Storage and memory
The downloads page lists exact compressed file sizes. You need additional space for installation, extraction, guest storage, packages, and your own files.
A tested memory minimum and installed-storage minimum have not been established for this release. Close unnecessary apps during initial setup and watch for Android reporting low storage or terminating the app.
Virtualization backends
The APK bundles ARM64 QEMU and crosvm libraries. Their presence confirms packaged components, not successful hardware acceleration on an arbitrary phone.
Firmware, Android permissions, and access to virtualization facilities affect which backend can work. This guide does not promise pKVM access based solely on Android version and does not recommend commands that purport to grant privileged virtualization permissions on every stock device.
USB and wireless hardware
USB host support, adapters, drivers, and guest integration each matter. Android detecting an accessory does not necessarily mean the Linux guest can use it.
Wi-Fi monitor mode and injection depend on supported hardware and drivers. Installing Kalidroid does not establish those capabilities for a phone’s built-in radio. Check the specific hardware before planning a workflow around it.
When compatibility is uncertain
Record the device model, Android build, app version, available storage, selected backend if shown, and exact error. Use the troubleshooting guide before changing advanced settings.
